stickley inspired door decoration
I love beginnings. Having recently undertaken a New Year inspired cleanse-fest and studio makeover, I realized just what a gifted beginner I am. Tucked away in cupboards, I have partially finished “this” and mostly done “that”. The only logical resolution for 2010, is to become a “finisher”. I have vowed to ressurect projects from the tombs of the undone. A fine example of an incomplete endeavor is the paint in our living room. It’s funny how blue tape begins to look like a design choice when it’s spent a few months dramatically framing unpainted trim.
An aspect of the painting that I was excited to complete was this Stickley inspired flower. I had put one on the inner panel of the door leading to the kitchen, but because the door is rarely closed, it is hardly ever visible. This one gets seen a lot more as it decorates the opposite door into the guest bedroom.
